Croatia is full of natural beauty, and one of the most impressive landscapes, where nature has created truly incredible shapes, is certainly the Bijele and Samara rocks. Along with Hajdučke and Rožanska kukov on Velebit, Bijele and Samarska rocks are the only ones with the status of a strict nature reserve, which is the strictest form of nature protection. They are located in the central part of Velika Kapela, and stretch through two counties - Karlovačka and Primorsko-goranska. If you like hiking and have at least a little adventurous spirit, a trip to the Bijele and Samara rocks will delight you. The ascent is relatively demanding, but it definitely represents the most attractive hiking path you will cross because nature has formed incredible karst shapes in the white stone here that leave you breathless. You will often descend and climb rocks, and in some parts the path is secured with pegs and cables. However, there are not many such parts and if you are in good shape and with a little caution and dexterity, you will overcome the whole path without any problem.

In the upper reaches of the Kamačnik there is an educational and didactic trail that interprets the natural features of this area, and on the promenade along the Kamačnik stream, there is a Pan's trail with five sound installations. The botanical trail will help you learn about the plant and animal world that lives here.

In Risnjak National Park, there is the source of the Kupa River, one of the strongest, most widespread and deepest Croatian springs. At an altitude of 321 m above sea level, the water has formed a green-blue lake that will enchant you. The upper course of the Kupa River is called the Miraculous Valley of Butterflies due to the richness of its flora and fauna. A visit to the source of Kupa is possible from two directions within the borders of the national park - from the village of Razloge, 15 km from Crni Lug, and from the village of Kupari, 30 km away. Due to the narrow roads, the Razloge entrance is recommended.
The hiking trail from Razlog has a serpentine character, so it will take you about half an hour to walk to the source, while the return trip should take twice as long. You can also reach the source from the village Hrvatsko (Crni Lug – Hrvatsko 45 min drive) via Kupar. The path from Kupar is laid along the watercourse itself and will take you to the spring in about 30 minutes. To return, you can use the path that stretches along the right bank, parallel to the course of the river.
National Park Risnjak represents all the natural beauty of Gorski kotar. Unique for its natural beauty, biodiversity and location, Risnjak attracts many nature lovers year after year. This wooded mountain range is named after the lynx, its most popular resident, and is one of the few places in Europe where you can still see it in its natural habitat. In its forests, in addition to the lynx, two other large European beasts, the bear and the wolf, have found their home, as well as numerous plant species, among which the rare and protected flower - eelgrass stands out.
Vrh Risnjak is impressive in every season: in winter when it is covered with snow, in spring when the meadows around it turn into flower beds, in summer when it offers a break from the summer heat in the nearby coast and in autumn when the leaves of its forest turn different colors. When visiting Risnjak, you will also enjoy the magnificent vistas that stretch out towards the islands of the Kvarner Bay and towards the mountains in neighboring Slovenia all the way to the Alps. The ticket price for adults is 10 euros and is valid for 2 days.
